Marcus Wright has been living with his younger sister for a few peaceful years when when a Blood Knight wreaks chaos and kidnaps his sister. Determined to save her, his journey brings him into the world of Erebus, filled with monsters, gods, and magic. Upon arriving there he meets a swordswoman named Selene who helps him adapt to his new life.

Marcus and Selene head off to the town of Lunaas, resting place of the fallen dragon Malthael to catch a rogue goddess, and to learn how to control Marcus's incredible power.
